About

What is the artist doing? why does the artist do it?

We - everyone - give ourselves permission to reshape the world and by doing, to reflect our selves in it and in what we make. This is not an intention, it is a by-product and unavoidable. In other words; despite every attempt I make to avoid it, the work I make is inevitably about me.

I am a  Modernist and believe that there is still much that can be achieved through this. I believe that through art you can - slowly - change and re-make the world and make it better. Who would not want to do that?

I attempt to be rational and fair and by this I mean to imply that all creeds, faiths or beliefs are a reflection of a desire to improve the world. Some though, are less rational in their espousal and less fair or balanced in the license given to other means of achieving a similar result. I think art is a great way to change things.

In practice; I play and I make and I ask the same old questions: What if it were this way or like that? I reflect upon 'the reflections' that I and others make in response to our world and wonder:- Need they be the way they are?
